My favorite compositions are the ones that seem to exist forever. They’re present, vibrating in the air around us, and as we adjust the dial on our consciousness, we’re suddenly let in on the secret. We tune in for a little while, then the signal goes fuzzy and we’re back on the outside. But the music is still humming out there somewhere; it has always been and will always be.

Trapped (Palaver Strings + Strange News)

“Chorale,” features three main textures - heavy, passionate chords that resonate into silence; light, airy chords that are barely breathed into existence; and an exuberantly flowing celebration. (Strings: 6, 3, 3, 2)

“Waltz,” is inspired by minimalist music, and specifically the musical language of Philip Glass. This piece, like much minimalist music, is very repetitive, and it develops through slow, incremental changes. (Strings: 6, 3, 3, 2)

“Degung” draws heavily from the Sundanese Gamelan tradition. These ensembles bring together a large number of xylophone- and gong-like instruments, each playing simple patterns, to create a pulsating, hypnotic, meditative musical texture. (Strings: 6, 3, 3, 2)
