If you're in classical music these days, you begin to notice some commonalities popping up. For example, words like "community engagement" and "entrepreneurial"; small ensembles trying to break with tradition while preserving the essence; everyone scratching their heads about how to make classical music exciting and relevant "today".

The Future of Classical Music delves into the roots, present, and future of classical music. Where are we today? How did we get here? Where are we going? Are we the future of classical music? To help me along the journey, I interviewed Palaver Strings members, Matt Smith and Lysander Jaffe; the General Manager of the Boston Philharmonic, Sean Lewis; and the former Executive Director of Project STEP, Mary Jaffee.
