The Minimalist Business Card
I know it’s a bit old-timey in this era of smartphones and Facebook, but I’m still a huge fan of business cards. It feels good to be like “Bam, here’s my card!” rather than, “Yeah, I don’t have a card…but I can put my info in your phone!?”
For my latest batch of cards, I included only my name and email. Here’s why:
1. I generally don’t like it when people do business with me via text, Facebook, or WhatsApp. Just email me.
2. During your initial conversation, you likely told the person what you do. Your card doesn’t need to remind them.
3. I like to design my user experiences without unnecessary choices or information. There’s one simple path - here’s my name, email me.
But that’s just my answer. Decide what information is absolutely necessary for you, cook it up, and get that card out there!
