Moving Day
A year and four months ago, Danielle and I moved to Berlin with two suitcases, two backpacks, and our two instruments. In nine hours, we move back to the US, with the same two suitcases, same two backpacks, and our same two instruments. We’ll leave this country as we entered.
We built a life here, filling it with all of the things that we needed and wanted, and now we have to release it. It’s kind of nice, in a way. Renewing. It’s a good reminder that you can’t take “it” with you (like, when you die, but also when you move).
Inside of, however, it’s a different story. We are coming back to the States very different than when we left. We’re filled with new experiences and friends and thoughts and hopes and dreams. Thankfully, those things don’t cost extra at check-in.
Anyways, I hope to see you all soon. Maybe make music together. Till then, Auf Wiedersehen Berlin!
