What’s the Point?

When teaching a musical instrument,

the point of technical progress is to enable musical expression,

and the point of musical expression is to facilitate communication,

and the point of communication is to promote human connection,

and the point of human connection is to spread joy.

Keep the end goal always in focus;

don’t get stuck in the middle.
