Vanhal Bass Concerto Duet

I always roll my eyes a little bit when a program requires piano accompaniment for their taped auditions. Not that I find it a bad idea generally, but it just makes an already difficult and expensive process that much more difficult and expensive.

Anyways…last year when I needed piano accompaniment for a tape, I decided record with violin accompaniment instead. So I arranged the first movement of the Vanhal Concerto in C major for bass and violin and sent them that. BOOM.

HERE is a video of the result, and HERE is the arrangement, available for free download. While I originally intended the piece for bass and violin, it works with bass and basically any other musician who reads treble clef.

Enjoy!
